Twitter Serves Up 500 Million Tweets a Day —
Big data is getting bigger. Hot on the heels of Facebook touting it’s 1 Billion user base, Twitter has now announced it posts up 500,000,000 tweets per day. I’ve not seen the 404/Whale page for a while, so I’m guessing they’ve got the hamsters spinning faster than ever before. The big data question now becomes: Who’s reading all of those tweets?
With recent studies indicating there’s as much spam as real news on Twitter, could Twitter be in danger of becoming known as the biggest time-suck ever?
