Watching ESPN Classic this morning, I saw a foul mouthed John Mcenroe going up against the super swede Bjorn Borg. The game was great, the atmosphere electric and the attire was way cool, in a retro sort of way. The shorts were a little too short for me, but the shirts and shoes were seriously kick ass. So, I did a quick search and now I’m going to be the proud owner of a pair of (new!) Adidas Forest Hills… Not quite as good as Adidas Ivan Lendl, but not bad. Now I’m wondering if I should get a pair of retro Adidas Kick for indoor soccer and Gazelle for, well, I’m not quite sure why anyone bought Gazelle (I had a bright green pair in ‘85) as they always dyed your socks the color of the shoes - Blue, Green, Red, Gold etc.
