Netflix Inc. raised Chief Executive Reed Hastings’s compensation package to $4 million for 2013, essentially doubling his pay this year.

The streaming-video service said it would pay Mr. Hastings a $2 million salary with $2 million of compensation through stock options, according to a document filed late Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
