Indonesian-Made Satay Chef Game Hits Blackberry 10 —

Cak-DuRae-promotional-press-release-03

The Blackberry Z10 launch in Indonesia on Monday signals the launch of 4,000 apps made in the country. Yeah, that’s a very nice figure looking at the fact that Indonesia is also Blackberry’s biggest market in Asia. Kicking things off with one of those 4,000 is game developer Qajoo’s second game title, called Cak DuRae.

Cak DuRae tells the story of a chef who traced his lineage back to Indonesia and is looking to explore the culinary riches there, in particular by making awesome satays. The gameplay is quite simple as you only need to match three falling ingredients to Cak Durae’s satay sticks according to the customers’ order. There will also be dangerous falling objects like bombs for you to look out for.

The one thing that impressed me about this game is the graphic design. It looks very fun and more polished than most Indonesian-made games.

Another interesting thing is that the Cak DuRae character has Indonesian characteristics for being half-French and Madurese. The culinary dish of Madurese satay is quite famous here in Indonesia. The game also takes place in Indonesia.

Qajoo representative Nikko Soetjoadi said the reason they made the game first for Blackberry 10 is to test the market. The game is now waiting for approval for Android and iOS platforms. Qajoo’s first game title, Run Princess Run, was downloaded by over 100,000 players globally.

Cak DuRae is a premium game and will cost you $0.75 for the BB10 platform. Check out the game on Blackberry World here.
