Home Computing Now 25 Years Old!

zilog z80 chip - from the sinclair spectrumIt’s hard to imagine, but the home computer that started a revolution (in the UK at least) is now 25 years old. The Sinclair Spectum, the successor to the ZX80 and ZX81 was the most popular home computer of it’s era - 1982-186 and only went out of fashion due to Sir Clive selling his technology to Alan Sugar, he of Amstrad fame. Of course, the Commodore Amiga and Atari ST also killed off the spectrum, thanks to their 16-bit processors, but there’s no denying just how much the Spectrum and it’s 8-bit Zilog chip changed the world.

The Future of TV is Here and It’s Named Joost

Joost - WebTV at it's finestI have seen the future and it is Joost. Having messed around with the beta for the last few days, I can tell you I’m thoroughly impressed with what the Joost team have put together. Admittedly, the content was a little light (compared to my 400+ channels on Dish Network) but I found plenty to watch - from Movies to Music Videos, Football (thats soccer to anyone Stateside) to Wildlife and some good old fashioned MTV reality programs to make the night-time hours fly by.
