After water, coffee is the world’s most popular beverage with more than 400 billion cups consumed annually, or so Ubercool tells me. A decade ago, global coffee retail sales amounted to US$30 billion. Today, sales top US$70 billion. With all that in mind, Coca-Cola, MaccieDs and Starbucks are going head-to-head, or cup-to-cup in an all out attack on coffee consisseurs tastebuds…

Playstation - Launched in 1994 - Died in 2006The console that brought video-games into the 21st century and rocked the world, the original Playstation has finally bitten the dust. Sony has announced the end of the line for the PSOne (the remodelled Playstation) as the PS3 gets ready for world-wide launch. This announcement doesnt mean gamers should fret too much, Sony are also working on a PS emulator for the PSP. Granted, the small screen on the PSP isnt gonna help when your trying to play 4 players on Demolition Derby, but it’s better than a kick in the ass.

Motorola Q Delayed - Again!

Motorola Q device - blackberry killer? The upcoming Blackberry killer, the Motorola Q has been delayed once again as we’re now likley to see the anticipated device later in 06. Motorola originally announced the Q in July 2005, targeting a Q1 2006 launch date. In September 2005, Ed Zander (CEO) hinted the device might debut early, but I guess thats now hit the fan. Motorola’s pitch for the Q is that it will be the “thinnest, lightest” handset with an integrated QWERTY keypad. It measures 11.5 x 6.3 x 1.1cm, which is certainly thinner than the 2cm-thick Palm Treo 650 and the 1.8cm-thick RIM Blackberry 7780, though the Palm device’s face is smaller. Unlike the Treo, the Q has no antenna stub.

Ever wondered how long you are going to live? MSN has a rather cool Life Expectency Counter on their site ready to scare the bejaysus out of anyone silly enough to share their personal data with MSN. Me, I’m going to live until I’m 102, so I’ll be around to see the end of Windows and the arrival of NeurOS, the neural operating system from Google. Anyways, here’s the link for the calculator.
