Hurricane Katrina rolling into LAI’m amazed anyone gets killed during storms / hurricanes / tornadoes nowadays. The media coverage is incredible, from doppler radar to animated scenarios, we’ve been inundated with updates of what Katrina would do when making landfall. If the mayor of my town here in CO said “get the hell out of here” I’d be making like sheep, get the family in the expedition and making for the hills… not hanging around and “holding out”…

I dunno, maybe a sound a bit heartless, and I’m sure plenty of people couldnt leave town due to circumstances, but hell, the superdome looked big and could house plenty of people, just a pity the roof didnt cope too well. To see the kind of coverage I’m waffling about, check CNN The Weather Channel and Fox News.

Theme:  Should I Get an iPod?

I’m wondering to myself if I should pony up some stones and get myself a nice little iPod. I already have about 4 mp3 players - including a cool but ugly 1.5 gig aireo (features include 80211, fm transmitter etc), a PSP - but only 512k memory stick, N-Gage and N-Gage QD and Elizabeth has a nice Rio Forge 1gig player… But I really want something beefier - and my ‘bro turned up at my gaff last week with a kick-ass 60gig iPod photo that just owned. He also installed iTunes onto one of my laptops so I got the chance to check it out first hand, it’s not bad - wastes MusicMatch, but whats a guy todo - I need MM to keep my wireless music player working hmph. Needless to say I need to create a cool iPod website and beg apple to send me a demo unit.. ha! like thats gonna happen, apple are known for being tight-asses.

On the other hand, the new Nokia N-91 is due for release in a month, and that baby comes with a 4gig hard-drive built in… sure it’s no 60 gig iPod, but I could ditch my N-Gage, my psp/aireo combo and have a pretty sweet device that blows away the Motorola Razr (sorry moto fans) - who can argue with a cell phone with a 4gig drive, 80211b/g, 3G and a nice display… I’m getting week at the knees just thinking about it - price tag $400.

Looks like the mighty scousers are becoming something of a last-minute team. On friday they nail CSKA someone or another 3-1 in extra time… Although it pails in comparison to winning the champions league (still can’t believe we’re european champions), it’s a nice thing…

Pride of all Europe... The Cock of the North! How can you argue with another piece of silverware in the trophy room? Now onto the world club champions cup thing, proabably against some kick-ass south american team like Boca Juniors or Independiente… that reminds me of being about 11 years old… liverpool were completely nailed 0-4 (I think) against inde… all I remember is they kicked our ass and that the grass was yellow…. now that I live in CO, I completely understand the concept of yellow grass..

Can’t get that stoopid White Stripes song out of my head… The lyrics are quite bizarre… it seems that Jack keeps thinking about his doorbell and he’s hoping and wishing that someone is gonna ring it. I guess time will tell if someone rings it, but I’m damn sure it’s gonna be #1 pretty soon.

I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I’m thinkin’ about my doorbell
When ya gonna ring it, when ya gonna ring it
Yeah, I been thinkin’ about my doorbell

Theme:  Bradlee Van Pelt - next Elway?

Bradlee Van Pelt - playing in the green and gold of the CSU RamsBVP, as he’s know in the close circles is looking more and more like he’ll make the squad. He’s not yet challenging for the #1 spot, but I guarantee Plummer will soon lose the plot, throw a bunch of picks and BVP will move up… Well, we ram-fans can only hope. It’ll be great to see him on the sidelines, just so those idiots at 950 the fan (local sports talk radio station here in CO) will stick their microphones up their asses. They’ve been riding Van Pelt for over 3 years know, saying he’ll never make it in the NFL, now they’ve changed their tune and say he’ll never be a starting QB… Well, lets see how long it takes…
