I just got my hands on a pair of Adidas CSC sneaks (thx Chad)… They completely rock. These rare shoes (try and find a pair on Ebay!) are a collaboration between CSC and Adidas to create their own version of the Top Sala. This black shoe features red and gold accents, which are traditional Chineses colors as well as the team’s colors. Only 350 pairs of these special shoes will be available worldwide. They were released on June 14th and you are pretty much SOL if you need a pair. Sorry guys. In the meantime, I’m still looking for a pair of Ivan Lendl’s or Forest Hills….

It’s a good job David Beckham holds no grudges. The adidas poster boy is getting ready to wear his 100th cap for England under new manager Fabio Capello, the same manager who dropped him for Real Madrid 12 months ago. After a pretty tough 2007, brand Beckham is now a fully fledged player with the uh, mighty LA Galaxy, training with Arsenal in the UK and hoping to return to the England camp and earn his 100th cap - becoming only the fifth England player to hit the 100 mark.
I’m sure adidas will role out an all new Impossible is Nothing style campaign to go with Beckham returning - If Figo can play for Portugal and Zinedine for France until their mid-thirties, Beckham who seems to be as fit as a fiddle at 32, should have just a couple more years in front of him - maybe not quite enough for the next World Cup in 2010, but certainly enough for the qualifiers in 2008/09.
Impossible is Nothing!

Dubbed the “fight of the century”, the Floyd Mayweather vs. Ricky Hatton fight no doubt drummed up millions of dollars on HBO and all the other PPV channels around the world. At $49.95 to watch the fight, I skipped it, even though it had my hometown hero The Hitman as the star attraction. Reason why I skipped: YouTube
Yet again, YouTube proves it’s almost impossible to police video content from users. A simple search for Mayweather v Hatton followed by sorting by date gives any visitor the chance to watch either the full fight, the last round or just the part where Mayweather is consoling Hatton. I’m pretty sure HBO and the promoters will be all over the videos and demand they are taken down, but at 8am on the day after the fight, I’m pretty sure many boxing fans, who for so long have seen the sport placed in the same conversation as WWE, will be quite happy!
BTW, there’s only one Ricky Hatton!
And now, for your viewing pleasure: Hatton vs. Mayweather: It’s worth watching just to hear the Las Vegas MC say Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmoney Mayweather!

It’s getting harder and harder to find the anniversary shoes from Adi Dassler. The super-duper top secret model, aka adidas superstar #35 is pretty much impossible to find. No one is selling them, there’s rumors only 35 pairs were made (or 7, or 14 depending on which blogger you believe) so unless Santa’s sack is really full, I guess this image won’t be appearing under my Xmas tree this (or any) year… White on white with white shell toe… Do adidas superstars get any better than this?
Can’t complain too much though, I already have a sweet pair of Ian Browns and the Perfs… Maybe I’m too spoilt - but is it too much to ask for all 35 pairs? I didn’t think so…

If you’re a fan of the Colorado Rockies and tried to purchase tickets today you’ll be pretty mad. But here’s some good news: Rockies spokesperson Jay Alves announced World Series ticket sales have been suspended Monday. Alves says virtually all the tickets are still available, due to a computer system malfunction. He says only several hundred tickets were sold.
“Right now we’re shutting the system down …. We expect to be online at some point,” club spokesman Jay Alves said.
According to Alves, the Colorado Rockies will announce new plans to sell the tickets at some point later Monday afternoon. He says the Web site received 8.5 million hits in the first 90 minutes the system was up and running.
The software breakdown that forced the Colorado Rockies to suspend World Series ticket sales has had a rolling effect on other area organizations, including the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, which crashed shortly after 10 a.m. and remains off-line for ticket sales.
The problem was a breakdown in the ticketing software operated by Paciolan, the Irving, Calif., ticketing company that processes ticket orders for more than 200 clients across five primary markets including college athletics, performing arts, arenas, professional sports and museums. The software breakdown affected other clients throughout the area who also use Paciolan, including the DCPA, the University of Colorado football team and the National Western Stock
Paciolan officials were in emergency meetings this afternoon and could not answer whether the breakdown is affecting all or just some of their other clients.
“We first started to experience slowness right when Rockies tickets went onsale at 10 o’clock,” said Anita Edwards, DCPA web-services manager. Soon after, the system failed entirely. It was estimated the Rockies took more than 8 million attempted hits to their web site.
Edwards received an email from Paciolan CEO Dave Butler stating they are aware of the problem, but Edwards did not expect web ticketing to be operational again until late afternoon at the earliest
